Story Telling
Wolves
And Goats On Cliffs
A
hungry wolf can only see a goat on a cliff on a hill, where it is inaccessible
by the wolf.
“That
place is very dangerous for you,” said the Wolf, pretending to be worried about
the goat’s safety. “What if you fall down from there then please listen to me
and come down here! Here you will get all the best, the softest grasses in the
whole country.”
The
Goat leaned over the edge of the cliff and said,
“How
much worried you are about me,” he said again, “and how gracious you are by
offering me the grass around you! But I know you well! All you think is your
appetite, not my appetite!”
Lion, Donkey And Fox Share Each Other
A
lion, a donkey and a fox, hunted together and managed to capture many forest
animals. The Donkey was asked to share the animal, and the donkey shared it
very justly, dividing it into three equal parts.
The
fox was very satisfied with the way the division was, but the Lion became very
angry, and by once swinging his huge claws to the donkey, the donkey dies and
adds to the pile of prey.
Then
the Lion turned toward the fox.
“Now,
you share it,” he said angrily.
The
Fox did not waste any more time talking. He quickly piled the catch into a huge
pile. Then from there, he took a small portion for himself, also the
insignificant parts such as horns and soles of the mountain goats, including
the tail of the cow.
The
lion whose anger had subsided, smiled and asked the Fox.
“Who
taught you to divide this pile fairly?”
“I
learned a lesson from the donkey,” replied the Fox as he stepped away.
Wolves That Look Good And Shepherds
A
wolf had long targeted a herd of sheep, in which sheep’s shepherd always took
care of his sheep with extreme caution and tried to prevent the wolf from
preying on the sheep. But the Wolf seemed to have never tried to prey on his
sheep, instead helping the Shepherd guard and shepherd the sheep. In the end
the Shepherd was accustomed to seeing how the Wolves keep his sheep so that the
Shepherd forgot how wicked the Wolves are.
One
day, the Shepherd traveled quite a distance and entrusted the sheep under the
watch of the Wolf when he departed. But how surprised was the Shepherd when he
came home and saw how many of his sheep were lost and preyed on by the Wolf. He
then regretted his foolish belief in the Wolf.
